The National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade says the Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro deserved the Peace Ambassador of Niger Delta award, courtesy of the Daily Independent Newspaper.
Comrade Mulade, a renowned environmental activist and also a Peace Ambassador of Niger Delta, said the Deputy Governor is a man of honour and peace with great strides, who had contributed immensely to peace building among the Ijaw, Urhobo and Itsekiri people of Delta State.
The CEPEJ boss noted that Barr. Otuaro had also helped in sustaining the existing peace in Delta, Bayelsa, Edo and Rivers States and Nigeria in general. He attributed the present peace being enjoyed by the three Warri LGAs to the personal efforts of Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro by ensuring that peace returned to the region after the Warri crisis.
He said the Deputy Governor did not only contribute to peace building across the Niger Delta and Nigeria in general, but also worked hard to ensure that the peace situation was sustained, using his skills of conflict resolution, adding that the award ought to have come earlier.
Comrade Sheriff Mulade described Barr. Kingsley Otuaro as a leader worth emulating because of his unparalleled personality and ability to resolve and manage issues. He noted that peace is difficult to attain and sustain, and commended Daily Independent Newspaper for honouring Barr. Kingsley Otuaro with a well-deserved Peace Ambassador Award.
