The National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade has urged Muslim faithful to use this festive period to pray for the resuscitation of the declining world economies caused by the global outbreak of the dreaded infectious Covid- 19 disease.

In a goodwill message to Muslims to mark this year's Sallah, Chief Sheriff Mulade, the Ibe-sorimowei of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, lamented that the COVID-19 pandemic has led to very poor health conditions worldwide, and enjoined Muslims to call for God's intervention in the situation.

Comrade Mulade in a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Friday July 31, 2020, charged Muslims in Nigeria to use the Festive period to pray Allah to grant the nation, all Nigerians, including Government at all levels, health workers, traditional institutions, corporate organizations, industries and NGOs the ability and capacity to survive the prevailing global economic downturn caused by the pandemic.

Commenting further, Chief Mulade said the world is at a standstill as the global economy, healthcare, businesses, social life of the people, education and food production have all been negatively impacted. He however stressed that with special prayers during religious events, God Almighty is able to turn the world situation around for the better.

Chief Mulade said it is not easy to lead Nigeria, one of the most populous black countries of the world with ethnic and cultural diversities. He called on Muslims and non-Muslims alike to make the country a strong and prosperous nation. He appealed to Nigerians to join hands with President Buhari in prayers during this Sallah period and reflect on the many blessings that God has bestowed on the nation.

He stated that the celebration of Sallah gives us hope for tomorrow, and asked well-meaning Nigerians to continue to pray for President Mohammadu Buhari for Allah’s enablement to tackle the series of challenges that bedevil the Country.
