Ahead International Day of Peace Celebration

Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ has briefed newsmen on the outcome of the one week activities to mark the International Day of Peace which is celebrated world wide every 21st day of September.

The event was marked by CEPEJ in partnership with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, the UNDP UNESCO First Ladies' Office through the African First Ladies Peace Mission, UN Women WARO, the Nigerian Police, Civil Defence Corps, Road Safety Corps, NEMA Nigeria, and other Civil Society Organisations.

This year's theme is "Climate Action for Peace."

Nafisat Amadu AbdulMalik, represented the National Coordinator for Center for Peace and Environmental Justice the NGO which initiated a project which turned out to be the brain child for 2019 commemoration.

This project which is in synergy with the other actors mentioned above, is an effort to sustain peace action through trainings on Peace Communication, targeting The and Religious Leaders, the Youth and the media.

AIT, Channels, NTA, Arise, the Guardian, Vanguard, Daily Times, Independent People's Daily, Radio Nigeria, Voice of America were among the press outfits represented at the briefing.
